The Philips AVENT Classic Newborn Starter set is everything you need to start bottle feeding a newborn, whether feeding exclusively with bottle or combining breast and bottle. The set includes 2 x 125ml/4oz bottles with newborn-flow teats, 2 x 260ml/9oz bottles with slow-flow teats, plus a dual purpose bottle & teat curved brush, as well as a newborn soother.
As baby grows, modern parents can continue to use the same bottles simply by changing the teats to medium, fast, variable flow or the classic thick feed (Y-slot hole).

Choosing the right teat for your baby
Teats for Philips AVENT Classic range bottles are interchangeable, and available in six speeds, newborn, slow, medium, fast, variable flow rates as well as the classic thick feed (Y-slot hole) to suit your baby’s growing needs. Once baby moves up to the next age stage, the old teat can simply be replaced with the new teat.
*Remember that age indications are approximate, as babies develop at different rates. You will know when your baby is ready to move onto a faster flow rate because he or she will try to suck harder to get the milk more quickly. Baby may also show signs of tiredness or frustration during feeding.

Clinically proven to significantly reduce fussing
Sleep and nutrition are vital to your baby’s health and happiness. Randomised clinical trial was carried out to see whether infant feeding bottle design affects "infant behaviour". The Philips AVENT Classic baby bottle was shown to significantly reduce colic, discomfort and fussing, especially during night-time.
Feeding bottles, whether they are angled or straight, need air inside the bottle to replace the milk your baby takes. When your baby drinks, a vacuum is formed in the bottle causing the teat to collapse, restricting milk flow. When unable to receive milk, a frustrated baby's natural reaction is to suck more vigorously, which in turn increases the amount of air swallowed. Most bottles need air to flow in through the hole in the tip of the teat to remove the vacuum, interrupting the flow and rhythm of sucking.
The Philips AVENT Classic Feeding Bottle is designed to work with your baby's natural feeding rhythm. The unique two piece anti-colic system consists of the Philips AVENT Teat/Nipple and adapter ring that must be fitted between the teat and the bottle for extra performance. The teat helps your baby to control milk as he/she would do at the breast, making it easy to feed with bottle only, or combine bottle and breastfeeding.
As baby feeds, the unique skirt on the Philips AVENT Teat flexes to prevent any vacuum build-up by allowing air into the bottle, instead of your baby's tummy. As with breastfeeding, your baby controls the milk flow. This allows your baby to suckle almost as if at the breast. Listen for the gentle whistling sound and watch the air bubbles burst on the surface of the milk. That's your guarantee that the air is being released into the bottle, not into your baby's tummy.
Translucent pacifier
The orthodontic, collapsible nipple of the translucent pacifier respects the natural development of baby’s palate, teeth and gums. The soother pacifier is made from silicone and are taste and odour-free.
